Case Scenario 5 - Laminate

28 year old girl met with road traffic accident in which she falled from her the bike and upper front tooth was broken. Medical history suggested that she is fit for all the dental procedure. Radiological examination was conducted which included digital x-rays. Treatment planning When patient reported to our clinic she was too anxious and she was crying due to trauma and a mental trauma of fear of losing a front tooth,she was very cautious about her smile and she even didn't wanted to face her family particularly her husband with Broken tooth. Our team firstly cleaned the patient's wound with help of Betadine and we sutured the the oozing sites using fine suture,patient was consoled and given medication to reduce swelling and pain. She was asked to to visit after one day so that we can proceed with the detail treatment planning and execution. On Day 2 we decided to treat that fractured tooth with help of root canal treatment which took us 2 seatings then spaced at 2-3 days of time. After root canal treatment and settling of the wounds,we decided to go for or a laminate that will be fabricated in in our dental laboratory and then it will be cemented on the fractured tooth. The patient was very anxious and she wanted the tooth exactly as same as the natural one she also wanted a good strength for the restoration. She expected that the Crown should not fall down any way and she wanted this to be kept as a secret from all the family members. We decided that zirconium crown layered with composite restoration or e Max crown will be best suited for the expectation of the patient the laminate was luted on patient and patient satisfaction was achieved.
